Guest lecture at the Rhode Island School of Design

Rhode Island School of Design buildings

Last week, I had the honor of speaking to a group of students at the Rhode Island School of Design’s The Web and Democracy class. It was a great opportunity to talk about the history of accessibility on the web, and how current technology including front-end frameworks, ARIA, Section 508 and WCGA 2 play a vital role in ensuring the web is medium for everyone.

Students also spent time exploring the US Web Design Standards and how it might apply by tackling a practical sample assignment: Coding up some content from the Rhode Island Voter Handbook.
